Before <left: before surgery, right: after surgery> my nose before surgery was... puffy and flat + bulbous nose + made my impression look dull.... (I was often told I looked like a bear) That was exactly how it was, but filler couldn't correct it.. It only made the bridge higher, while the bulbous nose stayed exactly the same.. And if it sank again after once, I'd have to keep paying more and more..
In fact, as the filler spread, the bulbous nose looked even worse, so I finally started looking into surgery. Finding a hospital was really, really hard.. There are so many hospitals, and hundreds or thousands of reviews get posted every day.. I really searched hard through various communities for reviews, and especially focused on whether there were cases similar to mine among the posted reviews and whether they seemed able to bring out the look I wanted well - A look that is natural but still glamorous, somewhere in between - I didn't want it to look obviously surgical, but I did want a clear before-and-after difference - I heard bulbous nose surgery is difficult, but absolutely no pinched nose XX
While obsessively reading reviews with those preferences, I consulted at several places I liked, and in the end I had the surgery at Banana.
Hmm.. Since I didn't take many photos before surgery, this is all I have left, but my original nose was so spread out that even from the side it looked obviously bulbous The director said the problem was the spread of my nasal tip, so they went ahead with bulbous nose correction and also lowered the nasolabial angle. Now it's been over 6 months since surgery, but since the pre-op photo is only a side view, I'm attaching a side-view post-op photo too~
After the surgery, the strange thing was that my mouth looked less protruded People with protruding mouths aren't looking into nose surgery for nothing. The filler I had injected was dissolved before surgery, and silicone 4 mm was used. When you look at bulbous nose correction, there are lots of comments like, "You have to use autologous costal cartilage to correct it beautifully~" so I was worried, but they said my nose could be done with septal cartilage. In the operating room they did say that if the septal cartilage turned out to be too weak, they could mix in donated rib cartilage, but fortunately it was sufficient, so they used only septal cartilage.
Right after the surgery, surprisingly, there was no pain, just a tight, sore feeling like I'd worked out my nose Especially the dryness in my mouth and throat was really hard.. Because of the packing, my mouth got dry, so I had to force myself to drink over 2 liters of water a day.. And the feeling that my skin seemed better was just a feeling, really;;
And because I couldn't wash properly my hair smelled awful I was really embarrassed about how I'd look when I went in for follow-up, so my older sister washed my hair for me.. I couldn't do it by myself at all because I was afraid water would get in..
Oh, and another thing! I never thought about it, but after nose surgery, since you can't clean your nose properly, sebum overflows.. I went to the hospital to get the splint removed and that was even more embarrassing Honestly, greasy hair would have been better But thankfully I was able to get sebum care right there, so that was a huge win... I could feel they were doing it gently so it wouldn't irritate the nose..ㅇㅇ
For aftercare, I got treatments for swelling and scar tissue management (like laser and injections), and I was also given a separate self-care kit so I could manage the inside of my nose at home, and I worked hard on that.
Sigh, I did regret not getting nose surgery instead of filler sooner, but what would I have known back then.. I'm just glad I met the right hospital and had surgery, and now I can live satisfied. When I look at people who got fillers, it seems like in the end they all end up changing course to nose surgery like me. Maybe it's fate or something..
