I finally decided to get Kozelco and booked a flight to Korea! I absolutely wanted surgery with the head director, so I initially booked consultations with both the head director and another director. Starting several days before entering Korea, I kept checking the site to see whether any appointment slots with the head director had opened due to cancellations. As luck would have it, a canceled slot appeared on the day I arrived in Korea!! I booked it immediately, haha.
On the consultation day, the consultations proceeded in this order: coordinator → head director → coordinator!
I had always been concerned that my nose was bulky, the tip drooped, and the area between my eyes was deeply recessed. Overall, I wanted a slim, feminine yet natural-looking nose.
The procedures recommended by the director were: * Lowering the columella * Tying the nasal tip cartilage * Kozelco * Harvesting cartilage from both ears (1.5 from each) * Shaving down the dorsal hump * Raising the nasal bridge using temporalis fascia
Fortunately, they said surgery was possible one week before I had to return to the United States, so I booked it right away!
On surgery day
First, the waiting time was quite long. I waited a really long time, lol.
But I was staying in Korea for only two weeks, so it felt as if they had somehow squeezed my surgery into the schedule…? I felt very sorry and grateful at the same time. Everyone must have been tired and exhausted, and I wondered whether my surgery had made their schedule even tighter, so I waited quietly without complaining, haha.
The scariest moment was when I got on the operating table. First of all, it was so cold, lol. From the disinfection process, they tightly tied up my hair to harvest the temporalis fascia, taped my head, and even trimmed my nasal hair, so I was completely overwhelmed.
I was so cold, tense, scared, and confused… then I passed out, lol. When I woke up, the surgery was over!
After surgery
Perhaps because temporalis fascia had been harvested, I felt a slight stiffness when opening my mouth. And perhaps because cartilage had been harvested from both ears, my ears felt very uncomfortable, T_T.
My nose seemed to have turned out natural and nice! But perhaps the swelling was subsiding differently on each side: the left felt slightly sunken, while the right felt more swollen. Interestingly, the left side hurt more.
Before returning to the United States, I visited the hospital to have my stitches removed and saw the director again! There was still quite a lot of swelling, and the director said my nose would become slimmer over time.
I plan to come to Korea again around May or June next year, so I should visit again then to check my progress, haha.
Week 2 review
My nose definitely looks slimmer than before! The tip has lifted too, and although the difference is not huge from the front, the side profile has definitely become prettier.
The left side of my nose still feels slightly stiff. It feels a bit like a bruise. But amazingly, people around me do not realize that I had rhinoplasty, lol. It just feels like my original nose has somehow become prettier.
It is exactly the natural change I wanted, so I am satisfied so far! I am only two weeks out, so I will know more after the swelling goes down further, but I am looking forward to seeing how it settles, haha.
End of review! 💗
