As someone so terrified that I need somebody to hold my hand even when getting my ears pierced, I made a huge decision and booked the surgery. I went with my younger sibling as my guardian, and on the day of surgery I made a huge fuss outside the operating room about being scared. After listening for about ten minutes, my sibling told me to just go already, so I went in for surgery. Thankfully, perhaps because it felt like an assembly-line process, another waiting patient went in first, so I did not take up the precious doctor's time. Oh, and I do not remember the doctor's name... memory issues.
They put anesthetic eye drops in and started. Since I have ADHD, I worried that I might miss the red light ;; but fortunately, the surgery went well somehow. Right afterward, my vision was hazy, so my sibling and I went to a pharmacy, bought artificial tears and eye drops, took the subway, and went home. But my eyes felt like they were on fire, so I came home sobbing. If possible, I recommend taking a taxi or a guardian's car.
About a month later, an eye test showed 1.0 in both eyes, but now they feel slightly worse than that. (I know I should not do this, but I was too lazy to go for regular checkups...) I suspect it may be because I use my phone with the lights off at night. I diligently take lutein and astaxanthin. If I do not sleep enough, my eyes feel very gritty, so I carry artificial tears with me. When I go out at night, my vision feels worse than during the day. (Halos around lights.) Anyway, even if I went back, I would do it again~~
