I had LASIK surgery 15 years ago. My eyesight had originally been quite bad, but after giving birth and raising a child, wearing glasses was so hard. As my child grew, they kept getting curious about my glasses and playing with them, and I thought at this rate both my child and I might get hurt. So I looked into hospitals, left my child at my parents' home, and heard that at a large ophthalmology clinic in Deokcheon-dong, Busan, it was cheaper if you got the exam and surgery done on the same day, so I quickly went ahead with it. Fortunately, my vision was not that bad, so they said LASIK surgery was possible.
Even though it was 15 years ago, I still vividly remember the day I came out after surgery. I came out with a transparent protective shield like Medusa taped over my eyes, and my husband laughed so much when he saw me. When I first came out after the surgery, my eyes stung so much and it was so uncomfortable to open them that I think I went straight to sleep as soon as I got home.
The next day, when I opened my eyes, it was amazing how clearly I could see the world. That morning, I went straight back to the hospital where I had the surgery and had my vision measured, and it came out as 1.2. Now, 15 years later, I still see well at 1.5 haha. They say poor eyesight is hereditary too, but thankfully my daughter seems not to have inherited my eyesight, so I'm relieved.
