Hello everyone! I had double eyelid surgery 8 years ago, but even after the surgery, when I took photos, my eyes still looked weak. Until recently, I just lived thinking maybe that was the natural shape of my eyes and there was nothing I could do about it, but while looking through old photos, I found one where my eyes looked really big and round. My eyes usually get so swollen during the day that they barely open, you know? But that day, the photo was taken at dawn, so the swelling in my eyes had completely gone down and my eyes were opened wide. Seeing that made me think, ah, when my eyes aren't swollen, they look more defined; maybe the problem wasn't my eye shape but the swelling. After that, I spent months looking for ways to make swelling go down quickly or prevent it from forming, but I didn't see any clear effect and wondered if I just had to live like this. Then I changed my thinking and wondered, what if I somehow practiced opening my eyes wider even while they were swollen? So I searched all kinds of things, like ptosis treatment methods, eye shape correction, and ways to strengthen the muscles used to open the eyes, and practiced on my own. That's when I realized I really had no strength for opening my eyes. I thought there might be people similar to me, so I wanted to share a few tips I realized while practicing to build the muscles that open my eyes.
When you search for ways to strengthen eye-opening power, the thing that comes up most often is placing your hand on your forehead to fix it in place so the forehead doesn't tense up or move while practicing opening your eyes. Does everyone know this? You do this exercise, but the key point is to open your eyes with the idea that you are opening them using your eyeballs, while keeping your forehead relaxed. You need to slowly open your eyes from the center of the eyeball to the inner corner, then all the way to the outer corner, putting strength into the area where the eyelashes are. While keeping your eyes open with that strength, move your eyeballs as far toward the outer edges of your eyes as possible and rotate them north, south, east, and west. You should feel strength going into your eyelids along with the movement of your eyeballs. If you keep repeating this, your eyelid strength should gradually build! And when doing this, you shouldn't simply press your forehead; you need to press downward toward your eyes. That was what really kept strength from going into my forehead. Even after practicing this, you might not build enough strength to open your eyes all the way to the outer corners. In that case, I found that instead of pressing the center of the forehead, you need to press down on the brow bone.
There are probably people wondering, why do my eyes look so dull, and debating whether they should get eye shape correction, upper canthoplasty, or lower canthoplasty. I was like that too. I kept practicing this exercise, and my eyes became much rounder from the inner corners to the outer corners. Especially if you practice this exercise a lot before taking photos, your eyes definitely look clearer in pictures! Not only that, but a lot of eyelid swelling also went down with it haha Let's make our eyes look naturally clearer together without surgery!!
