Finally, I am leaving a review of my third revision rhinoplasty, which will be my last nose surgery in life. Before surgery, my biggest stress was having a short nose with an upturned tip, so my nostrils were clearly visible from the front—a typical upturned nose. To make matters worse, from slightly above and straight on, my nose even looked crooked, so I could only sigh whenever I looked in the mirror. The outer corners of my eyes also looked blocked, and I wanted them opened naturally. Since this was my third rhinoplasty, I researched very carefully and consulted Dr. Kim at Lowell Plastic Surgery, where I became convinced I should have surgery. The doctor examined my nose and said he would lower the columella at the tip clearly so my nostrils would be less visible. However, he explained that lowering the columella could make the alae look visually wider and the nose flatter, so he carefully planned to combine it with alar reduction. For the eyes that looked blocked, we also decided to combine lateral and lower canthoplasty to make them look more open. I had revision surgery using autologous costal cartilage, along with lateral and lower canthoplasty, and I am truly satisfied. The upturned tip that troubled me has clearly come down, and my nostrils no longer look large from the front. Relatives used to say I looked like all my luck would escape, which was stressful, but that worry is gone now. From the front, it looks incredibly natural, as if it had always been my nose, while from the side it extends into the elegant line I wanted. Combining alar reduction was a stroke of genius. The nose shape is slim and refined overall, and the crooked appearance has completely disappeared. My eyes were opened to just the right degree without looking excessive, so they look naturally brighter. I had many worries and suffered emotionally because this was my third rhinoplasty, but thanks to Dr. Kim, I am finally graduating from revision rhinoplasty. I truly recommend it to anyone stressed by a crooked, upturned nose with highly visible nostrils like mine!
