I usually had rhinitis because of allergies + asymmetry, and on top of that I had a hump nose, so people around me often said it would look pretty if I just raised the nasal tip. I also thought so, and it stressed me out. While looking into it, I found out about functional rhinoplasty, so I mainly looked for hospitals that could do functional nose surgery.
I went around the end of that year, and because there were a lot of people and it was a large hospital, the wait was way too long… After taking a CT scan, they said I had a deviated septum and insurance reimbursement was possible, so I booked surgery for hump reduction, no implant, and nasal tip elevation… (Since it was my first rhinoplasty, I should have shopped around a lot, and I regret it so, so much now.)
Right before surgery, people usually say to make sure you see the doctor before going in, so while lying on the operating table, I asked when the doctor would come. They said once the sedation anesthesia? medication went in and I was lying there, the director would come. At that point I… fell asleep feeling anxious (I also wondered if it couldn’t be helped because it was factory-style).
After removing the splint, I saw that my nose was slightly more crooked than before and my nostrils had become subtly asymmetric.. At the time I thought, it must be because of swelling~ but as the swelling went down, it showed more and more.. In the end, the columella area became much more crooked than before, making it hard to breathe through one nostril, and there was no improvement in my rhinitis at all.. I visited twice after that, but they only said that if you lift the nasal tip on a nose that was originally slightly crooked, it inevitably becomes more crooked. Then I don’t understand why they said during consultation that they would also do deviated septum surgery
I’m looking into revision surgery now, and I want to see an ENT specialist. Breathing comes first, so I have huge psychological anxiety about what if I spend a lot of money and the revision also fails I recommend everyone carefully research both in person and online before doing it And personally, I really do not recommend factory-style places or places with many directors…
