Since it was my first consultation, I was really nervous... hahaha
First, my consultation list is ㅂㄹㅇ ㅁㅇㄷ ㅂㅌㅇ ㅎㄴㅂ ㅈㅇㅈㅇ 4__ ㅁㅌ
That’s the list, and my current nose is short, the nose itself is small, and the columella is recessed. I want a refined-but-natural nose that’s closer to natural-looking, and for the line, I’m thinking of a semi-straight line closer to straight. I also care a lot about the columella and nasolabial angle, so I want the columella lowered and the nasolabial angle considered so the surgery harmonizes well with my face!
First, I went to my first clinic consultation today, and I had a consultation with Director ㄹㄷㅇ at ㅂㄹㅇ.
The entire building was this plastic surgery clinic, so it was huge. Because it’s a large hospital, I did feel slightly more uneasy? in a way. But I didn’t feel like it was factory-like, and the atmosphere wasn’t too chaotic. The front desk staff were kind too. I also had a CT scan, and it was free.
I went to another floor and met the consultant. The consultant didn’t feel extremely friendly, but they didn’t pressure me to make a same-day reservation and gave just the necessary amount of consultation in a straightforward way! I actually think that’s better than feeling too pressured. I explained what I wanted, and when I said I wanted a semi-straight line close to straight, they said that might change my image too much and recommended a semi-straight line rather than straight. (I don’t have a mature image; I’m closer to a cute? kind of vibe!;)
After waiting a bit, I consulted with the director. They were very calm, and it didn’t feel like they were saying the same thing to every patient. It felt like they looked at my vibe and designed the nose accordingly? so I trusted them. Also, the doctor first mentioned a celebrity with a similar image, which made me feel really excited about the surgery...? I might have gotten a little fluttery.. Of course, they didn’t mean I looked like that person, but more like, “It would be good to go with this kind of feel~” and that celebrity was exactly someone I’d always thought was pretty, so I liked that.
First, because my nose is short and small and also slightly upturned, they said the columellar strut needs to be lowered, and because I don’t have much nasal bridge, they said I need to put 5.5 mm silicone in the bridge. For materials, they said silicone, ear cartilage, and even donated costal cartilage would be needed. Since it’s my first surgery, I hadn’t even thought about using costal cartilage, so I said I was worried about absorption and inflammation issues. They said that these days, donated costal cartilage rarely causes inflammation, and since it would be used together with my own ear cartilage, absorption should be okay. Also, I’d heard somewhere that lowering the columellar strut could cause breathing problems, so I asked about that. They showed me the CT scan and said my septum and that nasal passage? are well open, so breathing shouldn’t be difficult.
And they said that if I mention CCTV in advance, they can record it at no extra cost, and aftercare/revision service is possible for 1 year.
For now, I came out today without putting down a deposit yet. It was my first clinic consultation, and the parts that bothered me a bit were that it’s a large hospital, that donated costal cartilage has to be used, and that the review photos on ㅂㅂㅌ felt slightly more glamorous than the nose I want. That made me more excited, but also a little worried that it might change too much or not be the feeling I want..?
But the director didn’t seem like someone who ignores the face and just makes everything glamorous, so I think it might be okay, while also worrying because everyone’s standards for glamorous and natural are different..
So for now, I’m going to visit all the other places too and then decide!!
