Former GM Eye Clinic, later Rischleder & Partners Eye Clinic Director Sven Lee
About 10 years ago? (It was so long ago that I’m a little confused about the timing; it may have been about 1 or 2 years earlier than I’m estimating) I had a type of LASEK called ASA LASEK at the ophthalmology clinic with the name above. As far as I know, the doctor in charge was of German-Korean background, and at the time there was a lot of controversy because of his remarks and the issue that LASIK and LASEK in Korea were dangerous. Before that issue, two acquaintances of mine had such seriously poor vision that they had surgery there and said it became so much better. So it wasn’t because of ads or reviews, but because it was a place my acquaintances had personally experienced, I trusted it and went ahead, and I’ve been doing well without any major problems until now. Those acquaintances who had very poor vision had really good results at the time, but as time passed, the initial vision of around 1.2 and 1.0 did not keep lasting, and although it wasn’t as bad as before, their vision eventually got worse.
At the time, the pain was so severe, and it really hurt so much I thought I might die. About 2 weeks were truly extremely painful. Still, afterward I didn’t really have any eye-related side effects, and I’m still doing well now. I chose LASEK because it was said to have fewer side effects than LASIK, but the pain was so severe that I regretted it, while also thinking that because it has fewer side effects and is safe, I would want to recommend it again to a close acquaintance.
Anyway, the conclusion is that quite some time passed, and when I searched for the clinic, GM Eye Clinic had disappeared. Then I saw Rischleder & Partners Eye Clinic had opened, so I thought I should recommend it to acquaintances later, but that clinic has disappeared too. I’ve seen an interview? saying he was heavily attacked by the Korean ophthalmologists’ association. Is that why he disappeared? I still thought well of it because my surgery went well, but I’m not really sure what happened;;

That clinic disappeared;;; After that, I don’t know where to go, and the clinic I would have gone to is gone. These days, it seems like there are many LASIK options that are not painful, recover quickly, and are inexpensive, so I want to find a good clinic and recommend it to acquaintances~
