Originally, I wanted to get SMILE LASIK, and since it was the clinic where my friend had done it, I went for a consultation at Onnuri Smile Eye Clinic through an acquaintance’s recommendation. But they said my corneas were too thin, so LASIK, LASEK, and SMILE LASIK were all not possible for me. Fortunately, lens implantation was possible, so I ended up proceeding with lens implantation. Actually, I was planning to do it at another place more famous than this one, but other clinics said that if someone with severe astigmatism gets lens implantation surgery, they can only have surgery after waiting a month for astigmatism-specific lenses. They even said toric lenses cost an extra 1 million wonㅋㅋㅋㅋ But this clinic said they had a technique called astigmatism correction surgery, so I could have surgery right away without any extra charge. I wondered if the clinic was lying on purpose so I wouldn’t get consultations elsewhere, so I asked a friend who had lens implantation at another clinic, and they said they really did wait a month. I had never seen a review from someone who got lens implantation at this clinic, so I hesitated over whether to do it or not, but because I was in a hurry, I just decided to go ahead.
The day before surgery, I watched all the lens implantation surgery videos the clinic had uploaded on YouTube before goingㅋㅋㅋㅋ So during surgery, I was thinking, oh, they’re cutting the cornea now... they’re putting in the lens now... They did one eye first, then I rested for 30 minutes, then they did the other eye. The surgery process itself was okay, but after surgery, my eyes stung more than I expected and tears kept streaming down... So I rested in the recovery room for a long time, using the excuse that my mom was on her way... On the way home, faraway signs looked hazy but very clearly visible. It was seriously fascinating. From the next day on, I could see so well, and I’ve been living with vision around 1.2 up to now. So far, I don’t regret it at all.
