I had always been self-conscious because my nose was low and my mouth seemed protruding, so I went for a consultation! I had seen the surgeon’s videos on YouTube, and they said that depending on the case, an appearance like a protruding mouth could be improved with rhinoplasty. The surgeon explained that because my nasal bridge was low, there was an optical illusion making my mouth look more protruding. Rather than raising the bridge indiscriminately, they said it would look natural and attractive to raise it in balance with the forehead line and chin-tip line. They said I would feel a greater before-and-after difference if volume were also added to the chin tip, but since that was not an area I had originally considered, they explained it was optional rather than essential and told me to think about it. They answered honestly about realistic issues such as side effects and swelling. I was also concerned about silicone complications, so I asked about them, and they explained the advantages and disadvantages of each type of implant, making it easy to understand. The surgeon also seemed to have a good aesthetic sense, and the consultation felt experienced. Overall, I was satisfied.
