It has been 6 months since I had double jaw surgery plus facial contouring from Director Kang Myeong-geun at the oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic. I had already undergone facial contouring twice at another hospital. So this was my first double jaw surgery, and my third facial contouring surgery. What I wanted was overall facial size reduction and a smaller midface. I also wanted my lower jaw to be pulled back to almost a recessed-chin look. I brought a photo of Karina as my reference image. During the consultation, both the staff manager and the director explained everything in a very accurate, detailed, and lengthy way. They mentioned the possible side effect that breathing could become difficult after surgery for the rotational jaw correction procedure, and said they would take that into account and proceed conservatively. They also said they could be bold with midface reduction. However, they also said that later on I might need treatment for facial sagging, philtrum reduction, and orthodontic correction. The pain after surgery was not severe. However, for about a week, my nose was blocked so it was hard to breathe. From the second week, my nose opened up and breathing became easier. I am still battling swelling even now at the 6-month mark. I think it is because I swell easily and the swelling does not go down easily. And since this face has had so many surgeries, the sagging is also somewhat severe. I think I will need a lift at the 1-year mark. Still, the bones were definitely reduced, so I can feel that my face has become much smaller. The midface also got shorter. My face is now 13 cm wide and 18 cm long. The proportions of the midface and lower face have definitely become smaller.
