For reference, the 5 months is counted by Yuseok's method...^^ Swelling reached down to under the eyes for a week and I also got bruising. After two weeks, once the splint and all the stitches came off, the first look at my nose made the bridge seem way too high...? From weeks 3 to 4, as the swelling gradually went down starting from the bridge, it became more natural, and I actually started hoping it would not get any lower. By the time I was wrapping up month 2, month 3, and then months 4 to 5 (now), when I went out wearing makeup, it no longer gave off that immediate, obvious look of someone who has had a nose job. By months 3 to 4 and 4 to 5, the swelling seemed to have completely gone down and the result turned out glamorous and pretty well (5 mm silicone was inserted). Still, during weeks 2 to 3, looking at my newly high bridge for the first time, I panicked and worried about everything: was it too high, was the tip too round and too high, and so on. But around the time it was almost one month, even though the swelling was not completely gone, the shape had settled enough that all that anxiety disappeared...^^ It was the same when I had lower eyelid surgery. Whenever I have surgery, I seem to get caught up in that kind of anxiety on my own... You need to know how to ignore it, too, but the thought that there is no going back already dominates my head and makes things hard for me. It has never gone wrong so far, but being careful never hurts, and that is something I should have worried about before surgery, not after it.... lol If you are like me and get anxious and worried after surgery, are there others out there...? ^^ Anyway, the hard parts after surgery were pretty much the same as usual: before the packing came out, breathing was hard; after all the stitches were out, I could not pick at my boogers however I wanted, which was annoying; and while the swelling was going down, wearing a mask everywhere was suffocating. But since all of that was expected and I had already accepted it before getting surgery, it was fine. There were no unexpected problems like, wow this is harder than I thought? or anything like that. As for the good parts after surgery, there is no need to even say it... since I used silicone plus autologous costal cartilage, the higher bridge was a given, and I was worried the area between the eyes might look crowded, but they gave it the right proportions so the upper face ratio came out well? My nose made my eyes look prettier, too....^^ So my conclusion is: if your nose is ordinary and you just want to look prettier, think about it a bit more. If your nose was unbelievably ugly and a lifelong complex, but you are worried about side effects, then just do it...
