Exactly 10 years ago... in July There was a time when a cafe event made double-eyelid surgery at Wonjin Plastic Surgery really popular... There were many Chinese patients too, the textbook example of a factory-style clinic. But I was so happy thinking that my lifelong double-eyelid wish was finally going to come true. As for the surgery review, I know that now they use numbing ointment and do local anesthesia after sedation, but back then they put the anesthesia shot straight into my eyes without even sedating me, and it really hurt. That pain was probably the worst I've ever felt in my life. With my arms and legs tied down, I thought, ah... no matter what happens, I will never get double-eyelid surgery a second time. The sound of cutting flesh, scissor-scissor..., and the feeling of the thread pulling on my eyes were all so vivid. On top of that, they said if I tightened my eyes they would bruise, and with the lights making my eyes so sensitive, I struggled on my own to keep them relaxed, sweating buckets from the heat because it was summer or maybe because I was nervous. The result was a disaster. I had a partial incision, but the double-eyelid line was weird, and now that I think about it, when summer vacation ended the reactions from teachers and friends were not very good either. (But when I was young, I just thought even a weird double eyelid was still a double eyelid, so better than having none. I lived with that kind of mindset lol.) In the end, after I became an adult, the double eyelid completely disappeared. It didn't just loosen up; I went back to a monolid, so I had revision surgery at another clinic with an incision method. When I consulted at the revision clinic, they were upset and said, where on earth did you have surgery before that they tore your inner corner like this on a child? So this time I'm even looking into restoration for the inner corner surgery. I don't know how honestly I'm supposed to write this, but for now this clinic is on my blacklist in my heart. I'll never go again, to the point that they should pay me back. It was already big 10 years ago, and it's surprising that it got even bigger.
