First of all, the director seems to prioritize safety and side effects, and I liked that he seemed to plan the surgery with no implant material. I also liked that he seemed to plan the procedure based on not having problems later. He also said donated rib cartilage could cause problems later. He emphasized that it was professional and that it should be finished in the first surgery, which made me trust him, but there are reasons I hesitated to choose this hospital right away. I feel like I would have booked immediately if these issues below weren’t there. He explained everything with a lot of passion and professionalism. 1. He said they would only use the septum, but they would open it up on the operating table, and if the septum was insufficient, they would use ear cartilage. That means before going onto the operating table, I wouldn’t know whether ear cartilage would be used, and surgery would be done randomly. 2. He said he would raise the nasal tip using only the septum without a columellar strut, so I wondered whether it might be too natural and lacking aesthetically or whether the nasal tip would droop without a columellar strut. 3. He talked about osteotomy, but I’ve seen some posts saying osteotomy is risky, so I think I’d need to cross-check elsewhere whether I’m the type who actually needs osteotomy. Anyway, there’s some burden around osteotomy. The consultation lasted about 40 minutes like a lecture, and since I had studied a lot in advance, I kept asking questions as I listened, but he slightly embarrassed me by saying the consultation was getting too long I’ll look around other places too, but for my first round of clinic visits, D&D was good enough that if it weren’t for the concerns above, I think I would have leaned toward choosing here. The consultation itself was good.
