It was my first consultation so I was nervous, but the surgeon listened calmly and gave me the feeling that he would quietly wait to see if I had any more questions. He didn’t mention costal cartilage at all, and although my nose is small, he said the septal cartilage was sufficient and explained that we should use one piece of ear cartilage plus 4 mm silicone. I asked whether I should do functional nose surgery because I have rhinitis, and he said it wasn’t necessary because it was not a structural issue like a deviated septum, but seasonal and temperature-related rhinitis, where the mucous membrane only swells at those times, so symptoms would come back even after surgery. The manager was kind too, and without me even asking she brought up CCTV and said there was no need to worry about proxy surgery because the only person here who can perform nose surgery is Director Kwon, and he would never leave during surgery! Since there is a long gap before the operation (it’s in 3 months, for Chuseok), I can come back for another consultation in the middle if I want, and of course on the day itself I would go in only after consulting with the doctor. She also arranged the date for Thursday during the Chuseok holiday, which I was extremely grateful for. (Even though the schedule hasn’t been released yet, when I said that doing it on this day would fit my work schedule really well, they immediately checked with the surgeon and the staff and let me know it seemed possible.) The surgery time is expected to be 1 hour and 30 minutes. I had a 22-minute consultation with the surgeon and a 30-minute consultation with the manager. The manager paid close attention to the notebook I had written things in and, seeing how much I had researched, checked everything carefully.
