I had a secondary canthoplasty after the inner corner scarred, with too much lacrimal caruncle exposure and severe hollowing at the inner corner of the eye. At first I thought it would get better with time, but I could not get used to the harsh impression. People around me often said I seemed to look more severe, which was stressful. More than anything, the scar area bothered me so much, and even when I covered it with makeup it would wash off quickly and show again. So I looked into revision surgery for the inner corner, but I heard that if it goes wrong it can make the eyes look even more cramped or the scar worse. At the consultation, they said my lacrimal caruncle exposure was fairly severe, so they could restore about 2 mm and also remove the hollow scar. I had the surgery. After the stitches were removed and the swelling started to go down, I was glad that the moderate lacrimal caruncle exposure and the scar had become noticeably lighter. I thought restoration would be much harder than widening, but fortunately I found the right hospital and had the surgery here.
