I went while I was tired, so I was planning to just half-listen and leave, but it turned out to be a surprisingly practical and helpful consultation, so I ended up paying attention all the way through. The doctor looked at my nose and said the septum itself wasn’t in bad shape, but the inside passage was unusually narrow. He explained that breathing could improve with something like inferior turbinate reduction surgery. However, he also said realistically that even with surgery, seasonal allergy symptoms would not disappear 100%.
