Eye Surgery review at Yukaenbi (유캔비) · Ptosis correction, incisional · 2023-07-10

I had normal pseudo-ptosis and did not even need eye muscle correction, but they insisted I absolutely had to get it, so I trusted them and had the surgery. One eye became overcorrected and the other undercorrected, so the amount of pupil exposure ended up uneven. My eyes felt extremely tight and I had side effects like a stabbing headache, and because my eyes would not close properly, even though I was young, I developed severe vertical wrinkles under my eyes that looked like they had been carved with a knife. In addition, I have very severe double-eyelid scars, sausage eyes, uneven double-eyelid lines, and line height and folding that I hate for many reasons. The scars are so severe and wide that when I got consultations at other hospitals for revision, several people asked if I had really only had one surgery... and where I had it done, and they said it was so big that they could not just cut it all out. People around me also keep asking where I had the surgery, because they are avoiding that place. I do not understand why I trusted someone who simply pressed on my forehead and vaguely judged me to have ptosis. Even during the consultation I honestly had doubts.. It is a surgery with serious side effects and one that many people do not know how to do properly, and I regret so much trusting them based on their career. I had paid a deposit at another hospital that had a younger doctor, but I canceled it and chose this place because of the doctor's experience, and I have painfully realized that surgical experience and skill do not go hand in hand. At first I thought maybe they were just shaky because of age, but the more I looked into it, the more I realized this has been their pattern for a long time, and I feel so upset that I entrusted my precious body to someone like that. Thinking about it, they do not seem to really be good at any one field, because they spread themselves thin across many surgeries like an octopus and do not seem to be truly skilled at any of them.. And the funny part is, during surgery they called in another doctor without my consent and started teaching them, but they did not even have the skill to teach anyone, so what on earth were they doing... I was truly stunned. Instead of spending all that time promoting themselves on TV and YouTube, they should have been improving their surgical skills.. As the saying goes, all bark and no bite. And the hospital just lacks the basics. I got the operation record for another hospital's revision surgery, and they had really written nothing down. There was no information at all about the double-eyelid line in millimeters, what method of eye correction would be done or by how much, the amount of skin to be removed, or any other important details. It was basically an empty sheet of paper. And when it comes to points like this, they act as if they have done nothing wrong at all. If you ask a few questions about what you were unhappy with, they call it "picking a fight," and even while the patient is speaking they laugh, open the door, and leave. Looking at other reviews, there are other people who had the same experience. The manager was the same. At first, when I was worried about the side effects of eye correction, she sneered at me like, "You had nose surgery too, so why are you scared of eye correction?" and she was also very pushy about the reservation deposit, so I remember feeling extremely offended. When I later came back for a consultation with the doctor and to get the operation record issued, she responded in a similar way. When I said the scar was bothering me, she made absurd logic like "If you open your eyes, you cannot see the scar," and treated me like someone who did not even know where the double-eyelid incision line was.. I know the manager consultation is worthless, but it is still one more reason to rule out this place when choosing a hospital. Before, I trusted doctors a lot because they were experts, and I considered their opinions important. But after going through this experience, honestly all my previous respect and trust are gone. To be exact, I do not even want to treat a plastic surgeon as a doctor anymore. If the patient had been their own child, would they really have done it like this? Since it was just some other person, they probably removed tissue however they wanted and half-heartedly designed everything. Come to think of it, I remember the design was finished in about a minute. For anyone reading this, I hope you choose at least a doctor who treats the patient's tissue carefully and does not see them as just a lump of meat for making money. I do not want to have any more surgery, but the only thing I can do here is go back on the operating table again, which is such a contradiction. And they say the amount of tissue left after the first surgery is important for a successful revision... after consulting several hospitals, I can feel that my current condition is not good, so it is really bleak. These days it seems they mainly promote surgery for middle-aged patients, but I worry that people around my mother's age may not know much about this community.
