I had surgery here during winter break in my third year of middle school back in 2016. I was young and, because the ladies around me recommended it, I just got the surgery without doing any legwork. I wish someone had stopped that version of me. Why did I do that... Anyway, before the surgery I saw the director’s face for the first time, and they drew the line on my eye with blue? marker and went in. It was under local anesthesia, so they numbed around the eye bit by bit, but during the surgery the anesthesia kept wearing off. The doctor was flustered, and I was flustered too. In the middle of that, the doctor said, “You didn’t drink alcohol, right, student~?” lolllllll While they were doing the surgery, the nurses? and the doctor talked so much. From stories about their kids to going to department stores, I heard absolutely everything. With that much chatter and distraction, how could the surgery go well. The surgery was a failure. My eyes are uneven and the scar is severe. One side is inner-out, the other is in-line. Honestly, uneven eyes are something I can live with somehow, but the scar is truly hopeless. Every time I close my eyes, it bothers me so much. I can’t even doze off in front of other people. I have to walk around with my eyes wide open. The post-op care was bad too, and anyway it was just awful. When I was leaving after the surgery, the staff in front said, “Oh my, you look like Lee Som,” lol. Wow, I was speechless. Of course actress Lee Som is pretty. But that is not something you say to someone walking out after double eyelid surgery, right? And Lee Som has monolids. Maybe they just blurt things out without thinking, or maybe they don’t know how to think. Anyway, if you want to keep suffering like me even 6 years later, I’d say there’s no place better than here.
