I went for a consultation because I have severe rhinitis and wanted functional nose surgery plus cosmetic nose surgery for my hump-nose complex. After the CT scan, I went straight into a consultation with the doctor, and they calmly and kindly showed me with Photoshop which areas needed surgery and how things would improve by comparing before-and-after images. They said we should use ear cartilage and donated dermis, and for functional nose surgery they said all three components had to be done: the septum, nasal valve, and inferior turbinate. The cost was set high for the functional part, taking into account that it would involve insurance-covered treatment and that the nose had high functional difficulty, while the cosmetic part was priced reasonably. The doctor was kind, but I wonder whether all three functional procedures are really necessary.
