This is my second consultation review of Trend Plastic Surgery. My nose doesn’t look very crooked, just a little crooked, but if I’m going to spend a lot of money anyway, it’s human to want it corrected, right? It’s money I earned by working my ass off. The left side is slightly crooked, and when I said I’d like the crookedness of my nose to be made symmetrical, they said my mouth corners are tilted to the left and I have facial asymmetry, so it would be difficult. Then they showed me cases of crooked noses being corrected, and when I said, “But this one turned out well,” they said, “That one is an extremely successful case, isn’t it?” without changing a single word. They casually start speaking informally. They’re not someone who ever helped me in life, not my boss, not even someone close to me, so I don’t understand why they would casually drop honorifics with a customer. Anyway, when I asked, “How much correction would I be able to get?” they suddenly asked what I had eaten for breakfast today. I said bone hangover soup, and they said it’s like asking how many grains of rice I ate at breakfast, and that it’s a question that’s hard to ask and hard to answer. And when I asked about how much the tip of the nose sags after more than 5 years compared to the 1-year point, meaning whether there is almost no change from the 1-year point, they said if you stand a pen upright on a desk, doesn’t it fall over again? New jeans are tight at first, but over time their shape can loosen too, right? Everything changes. If you want it not to change over time, it’s better not to have surgery and just leave it natural. When I asked whether donated rib cartilage sags more easily than septal cartilage, they said no. When I asked whether it causes inflammation more easily, they said there are no statistics, and that among the people who had donated rib cartilage from them, no one developed inflammation. And when I asked whether donated rib cartilage is easily absorbed, they said it doesn’t get absorbed and stays there, but because its shape changes, some clinics casually say it was absorbed. When I asked whether the nose tip feels hard or pulling even while just sitting still, they said it could be like that or it might not. They said if something is inserted, that can happen. After that I asked about the surgery cost, and they said I should think a lot more about the surgery first, so I asked how much it was, and they said 4.4 million won, but that the surgery fee wasn’t the important thing and that the director also needed to think a lot more about the surgery. lol After that, I asked at home for them to ask the director some questions by phone. Then they said my nose isn’t even that crooked, and that if I pursue something excessively straight, they don’t think they could satisfy me even if I had surgery, and that they can’t say exactly what percentage of improvement there would be. They said they can’t make it perfectly straight and symmetrical with a ruler, and that I worry and agonize too much about a crooked nose. So I said that at other hospitals, most of them didn’t recommend it either, and that if this hospital also said no, I was just going to skip the crooked-nose surgery and have something else done instead. But the director apparently doesn’t want to do the surgery. I honestly don’t know what kind of case this is. A patient should be able to ask about the improvement they want, so how can they refuse surgery? It’s really something... I feel like they’re refusing surgery because they’re annoyed that I asked too many questions, and that bothers me a bit. Anyway, at my first consultation I strongly felt I didn’t want to do it here, so I have no regrets. Still, this hospital doesn’t flatter patients to get them to have surgery, and they answer questions very honestly, which is why I went back for a second consultation. This community is for sharing information, not for only writing good posts and never writing bad ones. lol As for the cost, based on the consultation in 2020, they changed their statement and said the material would need to be donated rib cartilage, and quoted 7.15 million won. When I asked by phone how much it would be if done with autologous rib cartilage as an extra, they said 7.5 million plus 10% VAT, for a total of 8.25 million won. And when I asked whether it could be done under local anesthesia instead of general anesthesia, they said yes, and I remember they said doing it that way would reduce the cost by about 1 million won. After the second consultation, after being told they would do the surgery in 2020, this was in 2024. At the second consultation they refused surgery, but in the third consultation in March 2020 they said they would do it and even gave me a quote. So I was curious whether the price had changed, and I called the hospital. The manager said I’d have to come in for consultation to get an answer, so when I asked when the consultation date could be, they said July x day at x o’clock was possible. So when I asked them to set it for that time, they said “yes” in a small voice, then asked my name. When I told them my name, they said in a small voice that the director said they wouldn’t operate on me then... lol So I was like, what are they talking about? and said I don’t remember, and they replied, “You don’t remember?” in a medium-loud voice. I said yes, and they said, “You came for consultation several times, right?” It felt like they were scolding me as if coming for multiple consultations was a crime lol. So I said, “I think I came several times for consultations,” and they said, “Right? Your name sounds familiar too... I’ll look up the chart.” So when I asked, “What chart?” they said, “The consultation chart.” I said yes, and they said yes too? lol No, what I don’t understand is that they remember the director said they wouldn’t operate, but don’t remember that they said they would. And if they said later that they would, shouldn’t the earlier refusal be automatically canceled? That’s what I think, but is that a wrong way to think? And I also don’t even know whether the consultation was actually booked or not (in the end, they never contacted me by that day), and it seems like it probably wasn’t, but treating me like I’m on some blacklist while knowing things inaccurately is absurd. I only came about three times for consultations, and about three more times because I followed a friend who had surgery here. Is that wrong? Also, they said they’d set a consultation date, and whether they’d do the surgery or not, I don’t know why they would care about that. A regular staff member should just set it if told to set it; I don’t understand why they have so much to say. Whether the surgery happens or not is something the director decides, lol. More precisely, I think whether I do it or not is my decision.
