This year marks exactly 10 years since I had surgery for a bulbous nose! I had an extremely bulbous nose with a low nasal bridge, and on top of that my skin was thick and oily, so my nose was not an easy case to get good results with. For the surgery, I had ear cartilage + alar base reduction + silicone in the nasal bridge. I did not ask the surgeon for a specific nose shape; I remember saying, 'Please make my nose smaller and make it look natural!'
The hospital was a really big place at the time, but it turned out to be famous in a bad way..? I found out much later haha I think the surgeon was a shadow doctor. I heard the hospital I went to was known for using shadow doctors.
The surgery time was even a full 4 hours... My mom was waiting outside, and because the surgery was taking so long, she asked why it was taking this long. Before surgery, they had said it would be over in an hour and a half, but when I still had not come out after 4 hours, she got startled, thinking something had happenedㅜㅜ It was the first surgery slot at 10:30, but I remember being flustered because when the anesthesia wore off and I came out to go home, it was already rush hour; I suspect they probably left me lying there while going to consultations, eating, going to other operating rooms, and so on. Otherwise, 4 hours for nose surgery is too much haha..
Considering I had surgery in such a ridiculously reckless way, I feel lucky that I have had surprisingly no surgical side effects for 10 years.
I am fairly satisfied with the surgery. Above all, I was moved that my nostrils were not round but shaped like kidney beansㅜㅜ Maybe it really looked natural, because everyone thought I had gotten nose filler? haha I was flustered..
But because it was way~~~ too natural, every time I looked in the mirror, I felt disappointed with the shape of my noseㅠ My nasal tip height has dropped compared with the beginning, and the nasal bridge also seems a little low because they used thin silicone, and for my nostril wings, I still absolutely have to use the 'reduce nostril wings' app function whenever I take photos^^ㅜ
So I thought I should get revision surgery for my bulbous nose, and I went around for consultations at places famous for revision surgery for bulbous noses.
But what everyone said was: 1. (Reaction after hearing the name of my first-surgery hospital) "Sigh + why did you do that.. + still, considering that, it turned out pretty well." 2. Your current nose may be the best possible outcome.

"Because you have a bulbous nose + thick skin, it is difficult to dramatically change the frontal effect compared with now, and if you want to see even some effect, the nasal tip would need to be raised quite a lot more than now, but that would not suit your image. (Your face is not one that suits a flashy nose.) Considering the investment that goes into revision surgery, such as the revision surgery cost and recovery period, the effect would not be large, so personally I do not recommend it. (The revision surgery cost was at least in the 8-million-won range.)"
I am really not lying, all 12 places said that, so I thought being born with a face that responds well to surgery is also a blessingㅜ I hope technology improves and, 10 years from now, a surgical method that can reliably correct bulbous noses comes out. K-beauty, keep going~~~~
Right now I am managing my skin texture and facial lines with the money I would have spent on nose revision surgery, but whenever I go through a face-slump, I constantly think, 'I want nose revision surgery'^^
