Since it’s contracture, I’m not thinking of using an implant again. There weren’t any places recommending that I use one again anyway. But the recommended surgical methods were split into two options.
1. Complete removal (including capsule removal), and only cartilage repositioning for the nasal tip They said the nose shape may not be as upturned as it is now, but it could become shorter than my original nose.
2. Remove the implant, remove the problematic parts involving scar tissue and capsule, and revise the nasal tip The materials currently inside my nose are silicone + septal cartilage + ? What the question mark means is.. I was definitely told by the previous clinic that only septal cartilage was used when I had the surgery, but they said it doesn’t seem like only septal cartilage was used. So the method recommended here is to check the condition of the septal cartilage, reuse only part of it + use ear cartilage to revise only the nasal tip.
Honestly, complete removal might put my mind at ease, but my original nose was also on the shorter side, and they said it could get even shorter.. I really liked the doctor for option 1 and I’m drawn to it, but that’s why I’m hesitating.
I also really liked the doctor for option 2, and I liked the before-and-after photos too? And while looking at photos of my original nose, they pointed out that my nose wasn’t originally long, things like that made me trust them. But on the other hand, I’m worried I might later regret it and think I should have done complete removal after all, so I’m hesitating..
If anyone has had removal for a contracted nose or revision surgery at SY or DR, please share your opinion, whether the result came out as the doctor said. And if you had complete removal, how long the contraction phase lasted too..
Whether it’s good or bad, anything is fine, so if you’ve had surgery, please please please share your opinion..
