I had it removed right away. I’m someone who got the removal. I think I was able to have the surgery well thanks to so much information from this community ㅜㅜㅜ so I felt like I definitely had to leave a review. I do feel lazy about it, but… haha Since I was someone who seriously wanted to die because of my nose, I thought that if I shared information or a review as much as I got help from this community, it might help a lot of other people here who have probably felt at least once the same way I did, so I’m posting!!
——- Reason for removal (explanation of my natural nose
First of all, when you looked at me with the naked eye, I looked fine (my columella was fine too), and only on CT, the septum inside was deviated.
But after I had nasal tip surgery with septal extension, it became even more deviated, and because of that, when I put my finger into my nostril, it got to the point where I could feel the deviated septum. I could also see it when I looked inside my nose. I ended up unable to breathe through one nostril.
Those who know about septal extension probably know this well, but since it’s a surgery that raises the nasal tip by adding support and extending only on one side, they say there’s a high possibility it can bend.
After surgery, I got a CT scan, and it was completely bent, so I realized this was why I couldn’t breathe well, and I burst into tears and wanted to die…
And in terms of the shape too, after the septal extension, it was okay at first, but before even a month passed, my nasal tip completely drooped lol. Because the tip drooped, my nose became longer, and I just wanted to die. Even at one month, it had drooped, so I asked my parents, “It won’t droop more than this, right?” but it kept drooping endlessly until the 6-month mark lol
And I originally lived wearing glasses, so maybe my nose changed as I grew up, but I had a very, very slight hump? But once my nose became longer, the hump looked extremely emphasized. Because of that, I heard a lot of people say I had become ugly. When it was my natural nose, it wasn’t emphasized at all, so no one even knew I had a slight hump.
Anyway, because of all these reasons, I was so stressed and wanted to die. I debated whether to get revision surgery or removal, but in the end I got removal.
Rather than getting revision surgery and spending the whole 6 months anxiously thinking, “What if my nasal tip droops again?” and feeling like I’d develop a mental illness, I thought, let’s just remove it and be at peace. I think that’s why I got it removed.
—— Removal review
For the removal surgery, I had removal + cartilage repositioning, and for anesthesia, I was under sedation for about 5-10 minutes and then had local anesthesia. On the day of the removal surgery, it hurt less than when I had the nasal tip surgery. After surgery, my nose was blocked with cotton so I had to breathe through my mouth, but maybe because I’d gotten used to mouth breathing after my nasal tip surgery when I couldn’t breathe through my nose, I did totally fine even before the cotton was removed. Oh, once the anesthesia wore off, on the day of surgery, my nasal tip hurt so much it felt like I was going to die ㅜ Still, I was so happy thinking that I had removed it that I think it felt less painful.
I’m a student… so I asked them to remove the splint early even though it was supposed to come off on day 7, and I got the splint and the external stitches removed on day 5.
After the splint came off, I feel like the swelling is going down more and more quickly.
The length has become shorter like my old natural nose, and even from the side, it feels like my own nose has come back, so I’m so happy. From the front, the swelling still hasn’t gone down fully, so it looks a bit broad, and I’m really, really looking forward to how it’ll look once the swelling goes down!!

When I was looking into clinics, I searched through all kinds of apps, cafes, and communities, and if you go to the websites of the clinics you’re looking into, they’ll probably have cases posted of removal surgeries done at each clinic. I really read through all of those carefully, and I think I also searched for both good and bad reviews after removal at each clinic.
And when you’re looking into clinics, go to all the clinics famous for removal. Don’t just research online; go in person. If you want another consultation, go for repeat consultations too. Oh, before that, I recommend going to the clinic where you had your previous surgery and asking for your surgical records, because they’ll give them to you, and taking those to your removal consultations!
There are quite a few clinics famous for removal… but it really was different when I researched online versus when I visited in person. I thought I would have surgery at the clinic I liked when researching online, you know? But it wasn’t like that lol. The clinic I felt least drawn to during online research was the one I visited in person and ended up having surgery at. As for the result, I feel like I want to say, “Thank you so much, doctor,” and even perform a ritual wishing that clinic more and more success?? That’s how important I think in-person consultations are, and I truly think it was so fortunate that I had surgery at this clinic. The clinic where I had my nasal tip surgery was one I went to without knowing anything and just had surgery, and that’s how things turned out,,,
Anyway!! I hope everyone thinking about removal looks into clinics carefully and gets removal done well at a clinic that suits them.
