I never thought something like this would happen to me. Honestly, I had completely forgotten that I had a nose surgery. 12 years ago, I had silicone placed on the nasal bridge and ear cartilage in the nasal tip, but I’m not sure whether the tip was tied. Anyway, it was excessively sharp and high. Then, exactly 12 years later, one early morning, I woke up because my nose felt like it was pounding like a heartbeat, pulling hard every second. When I looked in the mirror, my whole nose was completely red and looked like a triangle on fire. Soon the color came back except for the nasal tip, and the tip was the last to return to normal color. It looked a bit round and swollen, and that area looked dark red, so anyway it wasn’t normal. The clinic where I had the surgery told me to remove it. They said once that happens, it’s worrying. They said not to remove the cartilage in the nasal tip. Then they suggested filling the empty space with semi-permanent filler, before the empty space left after removal could settle in. I said I didn’t want anything artificial, and they said autologous dermis could be done immediately after removing the silicone and that there were no side effects. I was so shocked I couldn’t think clearly, so while I was wavering back and forth, I suddenly ended up cutting into my butt and doing it. Because I just wanted to get out of this situation quickly. Since I’m indecisive, I felt like I would keep agonizing over it, so I went ahead and did it, but this is another time bomb too. They said it had to look like an avatar because absorption had to be taken into account, but I hated everything and almost just removed it all. Still, I thought the tip cartilage alone might be too high, and even if it absorbed, something would remain, so I figured the worst case was losing money and asked them not to put in double the amount. But I later found out this has so many side effects. They say the nose can absorb it 100%. Then does only the tip become Pinocchio-like? Since I was considering removal anyway, I guess that part can’t be helped. Later I found out they had removed the silicone capsule too. I heard that’s a very difficult procedure. No wonder my nasal dorsum became red in a straight line right after surgery, and even the nurse was surprised. I heard that if everything is removed through a closed approach, the skin can be damaged, and if it contracts later, it can become indented or cause those kinds of side effects, so I got really scared. The clinic isn’t in Gangnam, but it’s a place where someone who has been doing this for quite a long time locally works at one location, and they seem to have some pride in their work. It’s not small either. I feel like I’m carrying another time bomb. Honestly, if I just removed it, it felt like only the nasal tip would be left. They say if the capsule membrane isn’t removed, it can become uneven. They say if it is removed, the skin can be damaged. They say revision surgery requires capsule removal. I don’t know whose words are right. Do I have to spend the next 5 years or so anxiously leaving it up to fate? It’s been a month, and it has gone down a bit, lower than when I had silicone. I asked them to make sure I didn’t look like an avatar, so they said they put in only a little fat and used mostly dermis. They said dermis absorbs less than fat, so it would be nice if it stopped here, but even if it absorbs, there’s nothing I can do. I just hope it slightly improves the Pinocchio-like look. In cases like mine where dermis is placed immediately, is it correct to remove even the entire silicone capsule membrane? And is there anyone here whose dermis didn’t absorb and has maintained?
