I originally had a protruding lower jaw and malocclusion, and because my midface was a bit sunken, I was a double-jaw surgery case. But about 10 years ago, there was this trend saying that corrective surgery for a protruding lower jaw should be done at a university hospital.
The dental clinic where I was getting orthodontic treatment at the time recommended minimal surgery, so I proceeded with mandibular surgery at Chung-Ang University Hospital.
My dental alignment matched perfectly, but a sunken midface can’t be fixed with mandibular surgery, so I still regret it.
On top of that, they also refined my chin tip, and because the trend was to make everything as small as possible, my chin became way too small ㅠㅠ Recently, I had another surgery just to advance the chin tip, but I’m not satisfied with itㅜ
Even if there is a dental alignment issue, if you’re dissatisfied with your appearance, I think it’s right to go to a plastic surgery clinic that has done a lot of these cases.
