I’ve had poor eyesight for a long time, so I used to wear glasses, and since then, people around me would even say I looked like I had a big nose. My nasal tip was low and spread out, and my nasal bones were wide, so overall my nose looked large, but the nose itself was low in height. I had an appearance complex about that, and that’s when I decided I should get rhinoplasty.
First, I had many friends around me who had gotten nose surgery, so I was in the process of visiting several clinics after getting recommendations. Then another friend sent me an Instagram video of before-and-after rhinoplasty cases from RU Plastic Surgery, and the image was so similar to what I was aiming for that I made a consultation appointment right away for the next day and had the consultation.
Honestly, I only wanted to raise my nasal tip, and when I first met Director Kim Hyun-joo, I said I wanted a natural look. Unlike other clinics, even before I told her that I only wanted my nasal tip done, she honestly told me that it seemed like only the nasal tip would be enough. So from the very first meeting, I really trusted her. In the end, we judged that changing the overall shape of my nose would be difficult with only nasal tip surgery, so in addition to the nasal tip, I decided to proceed with osteotomy to shave down the lateral nasal bones, which had been my biggest concern, reduction of the nostril base and alar wings, and insertion of Innofit 3D silicone into the nasal bridge. Lastly, the nasal tip was done using autologous costal cartilage.
I’m not sure if it’s because this was my first surgery, but maybe Director Kim Hyun-joo performed the surgery very cleanly and safely. The swelling and bruising seemed to have almost completely gone down in less than a week. People around me said that if I had surgery to harvest costal cartilage, I’d have a hard time for a while, but after about a week? I recovered quickly enough that there was no problem with most daily activities. Even now, I don’t really feel any burden or aftereffects from the rhinoplasty, so I’m most satisfied with that part. As for the nose line, it has only been a little over 2 weeks, but it seems to have come out in the natural design I had in mind, so overall I’m satisfied.
