Of course, you have to go in person and everyone’s impressions can differ, but it seems like each clinic has somewhat set surgical methods, so I’m writing a review!
ㅅㅅㅇ - The doctor was blunt. As soon as I sat down, he asked what I had come in because I was curious about, and he answered the things I asked well. He said the nasal bridge can become uneven, so it definitely has to be shaved down, and for the nasal tip, everything can be removed and cartilage tying may or may not be done. It takes about 2 hours, and capsule removal is not mandatory, but if desired, there is an extra fee. If they open it up and additional ear cartilage is needed, there is an extra fee. When I said I had done nasal irrigation 5 days ago, he recommended leaving a bit more time before surgery. The cost is a base 3.3 million KRW, with 500,000 KRW added each if capsule/cartilage is added. Consultation fee 10,000 KRW
ㅇㄱㅈㅇㅇㅂ - He said nothing is certain and they have to open it up first. Since there is no inflammation or contracture, capsule removal doesn’t seem particularly necessary, but after opening it up, they may do it if needed. For the nasal tip, he said he would do cartilage repositioning, but said they would only know what technique to use after opening it up. He said dermis or additional ear cartilage would probably not be needed. They take photos in between and show the patient the progress. Shaving down the nasal bridge also isn’t mandatory, but if it is needed after opening it up, they may do it. Overall, it didn’t feel like he spoke with certainty or presented option 1 and option 2; it felt like they would open it up first and do the surgery suited to the condition. The consultant also talked quite a lot and just kept showing reviews from other people. They said if I write down in detail and specifically what felt uncomfortable and how I want my nose to feel after removal, they would reflect as much of it as possible. The doctor seems to have a good aesthetic sense. The cost is a base 4.4 million KRW, and if capsule or cartilage is used, additional fees apply; I don’t know how much. No consultation fee
ㄱㅇㅅ - Other clinics said it seemed like septal cartilage was used entirely as the support, but here they said it probably wasn’t septal cartilage and was likely mesh or donated costal cartilage. They accurately pointed out what I’m dissatisfied with about my current nose shape, and also pointed out all the problems with my nose that other clinics didn’t mention. It felt like they would remove it, but also care about leaving the shape as pretty as possible. They don’t shave the nasal bridge, and capsule removal is mandatory. My current operated nose has the columella protruding a bit excessively, so it looks like an arrow-shaped nose when I smile; he said that can be improved, and the pinched feeling at the nasal tip can also be improved with alar cartilage repositioning. Some kind of support has to be left in place, but after removing only the mesh, if needed, they may also additionally harvest my ear cartilage. He said they would try to use the cartilage already inside my nose as much as possible. It takes about an hour and a half. The cost is a base 5.5 million KRW, with an additional 2.2 million KRW if additional cartilage harvesting is done. Consultation fee 30,000 KRW
I originally went with a clinic for surgery more or less already decided in my mind, but that changed after getting consultations. I’m from outside Seoul, so I could only visit three, but I think the most important thing is to go to as many clinics as possible and find a doctor whose direction matches what I’m thinking. Honestly, when I had only visited two clinics, there wasn’t anywhere I liked, and I had heard the last clinic left was very expensive, so I was only planning to use their opinion as reference, which made me a bit down. But the last clinic felt the most trustworthy and matched the direction I had in mind well, so I decided not to save money on the face I’ll live with for the rest of my life! I decided to have surgery next week, and I’ll write a review too~!
