Update on Functional Rhinoplasty Done Together With Septal Correction

I had a complex about my low, flat-looking nose, and my rhinitis was severe too, so I decided to have functional rhinoplasty at the same time and got surgery at a clinic. Overall, I wanted to raise the height and make the nasal tip rounder, and because of rhinitis, one side of my nose was almost blocked. Even when I slept, my nose would get blocked, so sleeping with my mouth open was part of daily life. I decided because the director said they would do septal correction, inferior turbinate reduction, and nasal tip correction all at once. For the surgery, I had septal correction along with columella lowering and nasolabial angle correction, and it was done using donated costal cartilage, ear cartilage, and septal cartilage. They said using donated costal cartilage to support the nasal tip helps the shape come out stable. Right after surgery, it felt a bit stuffy because of the swelling, but after the splint was removed, the swelling went down quickly. Once the things placed inside my nose were also removed, breathing started to feel easier. Now the height of my nose has increased, and the nasal tip is rounded, so the line looks pretty. From the side, the nasolabial angle line was also corrected cleanly, so I’m satisfied. Breathing is also clearly improved from the functional rhinoplasty, and it feels like my nose is open. Before surgery, I didn’t know breathing comfortably through my nose could feel this good. The director looked after both the functional aspect and the shape, so I hope this is helpful for everyone who wants to address rhinitis together with functional rhinoplasty.
