At 20, I didn’t look into it much and had surgery locally. Straight silicone implant. No nasal tip work. Back then, they didn’t do nasal tips. Or couldn’t? My side profile was a complex for me, so after raising my child, I had it done again. At a one-doctor clinic known in this community for revision surgery, the consultant scared me, saying that even with revision surgery, my bulbous nose wouldn’t improve much. They also said at Rooo that mine was a difficult case. Retracted columella nose. Nasofacial asymmetry. Arrow-shaped nose. Bulbous nose. I’m satisfied because my side profile improved. 3 weeks post-op. The bruising and swelling take time to go down. From the front, a lot of people don’t notice. Because I wear glasses? Because even after surgery, my nose isn’t slim? Still, it’s a little better than before, so I’m satisfied. Custom silicone implant. Donated costal cartilage. Ear cartilage. Sedation anesthesia. No rhinitis surgery. No nasolabial angle silicone.
