One-month review after revision rhinoplasty

Hello~ I’m in my 40s, but I wanted to share a review of my third revision rhinoplasty, so I’m leaving this here. I first had surgery at age 21 at a plastic surgery clinic near Gangnam Station, using silicone and ear cartilage!! Back then, I was so young that instead of thinking about a natural, pretty nose line, I thought a nose would be pretty as long as the bridge was high, no matter what, so I asked the doctor to make my bridge as high as possible But I had a somewhat short midface and a short nose length, my skin was thin, and my face was flat, so with only the bridge made high... you can imagine how strange it must have looked But I had heard revision surgery would be really difficult, so I thought I should just live with how I looked. But whenever I took photos, I got so stressed because of my odd-looking nose. Around age 35, even though it was late, I thought I should do it before I got any older. I should have researched carefully then too, but I didn’t go around consulting at different clinics and just went with what caught my attention. This time too, I had my second nose surgery at a hospital near Gangnam Station, using donated costal cartilage and silicone only But the hospital had so many foreign patients and so many people that the actual consultation with the director was... 30 seconds... “We just need to lower the bridge a bit and bring the tip down!!” That was it.. (the reason my bridge had been raised excessively in the first surgery) I discussed the materials and surgical method entirely with the consultant manager.. After surgery, the bridge was lower and the tip seemed a little longer, so I wasn’t perfectly satisfied, but I thought it was better than before and lived feeling satisfied... But the problem appeared about a year later... Many hospitals use donated costal cartilage for rhinoplasty, and not every result will turn out exactly like mine, but in my case, as the nasal tip dropped, only the nasal dorsum looked raised, and it ended up looking like a witch’s nose So I didn’t want to have a third revision surgery, and now that I was over 40, the thought of lying on the operating table again felt burdensome, and the cost was also an issue. I was afraid of the recovery process, so I was upset either way, upset when looking in the mirror, and stressed every single day. But I decided to make up my mind before even one more year passed... This time, again, I didn’t go around consulting at many places, but I went to this plastic surgery clinic for my third surgery. I had known since my 20s that it was a well-known hospital, that there were no hired doctors, and that it specialized only in nose surgery, so I went without questioning anything.... I went with the mindset that if this nose surgery really failed, I would just live with how I looked until I died of old age.. The hospital was small and cozy, and the system seemed arranged so that consultation times didn’t overlap with other patients besides me. Since there is only one director anyway, there was no chance of running into anyone else. The director first pointed out all the problems and stressful parts that I hadn’t even mentioned, so before I knew it, my heart softened, and the consultation was extremely detailed and thorough. We discussed the surgical materials and method sufficiently, and the director seemed like someone with a lot of pride in his work and a strong sense of responsibility. I had my third revision surgery using costal cartilage, silicone, and ear cartilage (I booked it immediately on the consultation day). The surgical process didn’t feel burdensome either because the hospital wasn’t crowded or noisy, and I felt at ease!! They said this hospital only performs one surgery a day... and there was no one else but me... So after the surgery was over, from the first day to the third day, I felt stuffy but also excited On the day the splint came off... I was completely moved... The director’s aesthetic sense is incredible. The patient’s needs are important, of course, but I realized as I got older that the person’s individual situation is also important He achieved the best possible result within my situation and conditions There was really no swelling, and I didn’t bruise at all!! (I think this part is really important.) Having little swelling and no bruising depends on constitution too, but it also means the doctor performing the surgery operated only on exactly the necessary areas and didn’t dissect excessively, so there was that much less swelling and bleeding, right?? The rib area where the costal cartilage was harvested also had no discomfort or pain from day 5 onward. The scar at the harvested area wasn’t that big either. He had operated beautifully on only exactly the areas that were needed... I fell for the director’s skill... Of course, other surgeries are also difficult and involve enduring pain, but despite rhinoplasty being a surgery with a high risk of dissatisfaction and side effects, he really created the line so well, and with his aesthetic sense, he beautifully made a line that an ordinary person could never even think of.
