My rhinitis was severe, and I didn’t like the shape of my nose either, so as soon as I turned 20, I looked into functional rhinoplasty! I was honestly so foolish.. I didn’t even properly research clinics and only went for a consultation at one place…^^ They said functional rhinoplasty could be covered by insurance, and since the director recommended what to do on his own, I just went ahead with surgery in that direction…. At first, I was really.. satisfied, but after 5 years..;; I kept getting inflammation in my nose I thought it was just because I wasn’t in good condition, but the inflammation didn’t get better, so I went to the hospital and found out my nose had developed contracture….ㄷ_ㄷ..; Honestly, in the beginning the symptoms weren’t that severe, so I was trying not to get revision surgery, but as time went on, the columella kept curling upward more and more, and the shape of my nose looked obviously strange to anyone.. In the end, I searched through all the reviews of doctors who are good at contracted nose cases.. and went around for consultations;; My mental state was really bad at that time, so whenever a consultation ended, tears would always.. come out.. I felt so crushed I think it was the hardest period of my life…. I pulled myself together mentally, went to all the consultations on the list I had made, and got nose surgery from Dr. Hwang at ㅇㅇㄷ Once I actually set the date, I felt a bit more at ease again…? On the day of surgery, honestly I was scared, but since the director had already explained my contracture condition and the surgical plan in so much detail during the consultation, I think I was relatively okay~~ Even after surgery, I kept feeling anxious, like what if something goes wrong again.. I think that anxiety stayed until before the splint was removed It’s been about 1 month now, and the part where the columella had curled inward has cleaned up nicely, and I can see that my nose shape has settled back into a normal position,, I do need to keep watching it a bit longer, but still, at this point, I think my nose came out well, so my anxiety has decreased a lot compared to before..
