It’s already been 5 months since I had 3-way posterior canthoplasty at a plastic surgery clinic. When I was researching, I got information from Instagram and searched around, and the surgical method seemed different from other hospitals and more definite, so I thought I should have surgery there. I live outside Seoul, so when I went to Seoul, I had a consultation and got the surgery as soon as possible before coming back down.

ㅡ Area of concern: My outer eye corners were slightly turned upward, making my eyes look blocked, so this was something I had been considering surgery for a long time. When I had the consultation, they said there was almost no space to open backward.
Post-op +1/+2/+3 days The conjunctival edema in my left eye was so, so severe that it was really hard The white of my eye was so swollen that the lower eyelashes curled inward, so it stung so much, and it was swollen to the point that I had to keep pulling my eyelid down with my hand and holding it. For reference, I walked more than 10,000 steps a day, used artificial tears often, and diligently did ice compresses.
1 week post-op The conjunctival edema did not go away easily.
About 2 weeks post-op The conjunctival edema, bruising, swelling, drooping of the outer eye corners, etc. lasted for more than a month, and the recovery period for posterior canthoplasty was so, so difficult..
3 months/3.5 months/4 months Most recent photo at 5 months post-op I felt a pulling sensation around the outer eye corners for quite a long time, but recently I don’t feel it much.
After getting posterior canthoplasty, it shows like that. You might not notice it from far away, but when I look at it, it looks like a ㄷ shape And eye discharge also gets caught in the spot I marked with the circle.. I’m removing it with a cotton swab every day.
I feel like I wrote this without much structure, but I uploaded several photos, so please refer to them. It may differ from person to person, but to summarize the pros and cons I felt:
Pros - My outer eye corners no longer look turned upward and blocked, so they don’t feel stuffy.
Cons - Expensive price - Severe conjunctival edema - No dramatic effect
