One-month rhinoplasty review for a low, drooping nose using donated costal cartilage and ear cartilage

My nose was so low that I had almost no nasal bridge between my eyes, and my glasses would always touch my cheekbones, which was a major source of stress. The nasal tip was also low and drooped without support, so I finally made up my mind to get rhinoplasty. I had surgery with Dr. Kim Jae-yoon at Lowell Plastic Surgery, and the procedure used silicone, donated costal cartilage, and ear cartilage to firmly elevate the nasal tip. I chose donated costal cartilage because I was worried about scarring if I used autologous costal cartilage, and I decided after hearing that it has good support and is excellent for fixing the nasal tip in a high, defined position. I especially liked Lowell’s 4Fix fixation method. Right after surgery, the area between my eyes where the silicone was placed felt heavy, and the nasal tip built with donated costal cartilage felt firmer than I expected, so it was a little unfamiliar. In particular, until days 3–4 after surgery, I felt some tightness at the nasal tip, but the moment the splint was removed after one week, my low and blunt nose was gone and a high side profile appeared, which was truly moving. Since donated costal cartilage was used, I definitely feel like the line is maintained firmly without worrying about the nasal tip drooping. Thanks to the silicone nasal bridge, the area from between my eyes has more dimension, making my eyes look clearer too, and above all, with the center of my face balanced, my overall impression looks much more refined. I’m one month post-op now, and I definitely like it. I was glad I could get the surgery at the event price listed in the app, so the cost was reasonable, and I’m very satisfied because I also like the result after surgery. Before, my face looked spread out because of my low nose, but now I can feel dimension even from the front, so looking in the mirror is quite enjoyable. Thanks to careful management during recovery so as not to strain the nasal tip, I now have a nose I’m extremely satisfied with for life!
