My face shape looked a bit like a peanut shape, and overall it had an uneven, bumpy look, so I started thinking that I wanted to make my facial line a little smoother. In particular, I felt that both my lateral cheekbones and anterior cheekbones were developed, so it bothered me whenever I took photos or looked at my side profile. So I started looking into facial contouring surgery, and after comparing several hospitals, I chose a clinic that specializes in facial contouring surgery.
What I felt during the consultation was that I liked that Director Oh Jung-seok himself did not exaggerate excessively or seem to recommend all kinds of extra things. The price was also exactly what I was told at the first consultation, so I trusted that there would be no pricing games, and personally that was the part I liked the most. His consultation style was calm to the point that it felt a bit robotic, but rather than talking unnecessarily at length, he explained only the key points briefly, so I was fine with it. I think that is probably the kind of consultation style most men want.
Before surgery, especially my anterior cheekbones were very developed, so my face had a somewhat strong-looking impression, but now, about one month later, that part definitely feels much softer. To be honest, my lateral cheekbones do not feel as dramatically reduced as I initially expected, but I can definitely feel that my overall facial line has become softer than before. Since my temple area is quite sunken, that may have made the lateral cheekbone line look more emphasized, but still, compared with before, the uneven, bumpy-looking feeling seems to have eased quite a lot. The overall balance feels much more refined than before.
Right after surgery, perhaps because of the effects of anesthesia, I barely felt any pain. People around me said it could hurt a lot once the anesthesia wore off, so I was a little worried, but it was better than I expected. It was just a slightly numb and heavy feeling around the surgical area, not pain that was hard to endure.
After about 2 weeks, I started to feel slight pain around my upper gums and teeth near the incision area. I was a bit flustered at first, but the hospital said it could be a symptom that occurs during the recovery process, so I did not worry too much. After that, I tried to be a little more careful when eating and not overdo it. After being careful like that, after about a week, that pain also naturally improved a lot.
As of one month now, there is no major pain, and I think the overall recovery process has been fairly smooth. The swelling has gone down a lot compared with the beginning, and my facial line feels like it is gradually settling, so I am watching the progress because I think it will settle even more naturally going forward. Overall, the pain and recovery process were not as difficult as I had expected, and for me it passed fairly smoothly.
