Think about whether they make a new columellar incision or not too~ My existing columellar scar wasn’t very good, so this part was important to me too. That’s why I asked about it everywhere when I went for consultations. But while I was going around for consultations, at one removal clinic, they told me that unless my columellar scar was in an abnormal location or in really bad condition, they didn’t really think making a new incision was the right choice. They frankly said that no matter how good a doctor is at suturing, it’s impossible for a scar to be completely invisible, and everyone’s skin heals differently, so making a new columellar incision isn’t really thinking of the patient.. But this is also an area where every doctor has different opinions, so it’s not that someone is right or wrong. I think you have to judge based on your own condition. For reference, my existing scar was pretty bad, so I figured my skin healing might not be great, and the burden of making a new incision felt too big. I had them incise along the existing scar, and I’m satisfied. But if my existing scar had been clean, I probably would’ve made a new incision. Anyway, everyone, think it through carefully!!!!!!
