It’s been 6 months since surgery, and I think most of the residual swelling has gone down?? The doctor said it could go down even more, but I honestly hope it stops here. My natural nose was low and also had a hump, so the tip looked even more droopy and it made my face look gloomy I got bulbous nose correction + hump correction, and once the center of my face gained clear dimension, my other features started looking more balanced too ㅇㅅㅇ Is it just me? lol Before surgery, it looks like I was deliberately flaring my nostrils, but I really wasn’t... lol That was a bigger source of stress than the hump. I think I went to consultations at almost all the places that were mentioned a lot on bulbous nose correction lists, and I chose the place that checked my nasal alae and explained in detail how much narrower they would become after surgery, even down to the position of nostril exposure lol Also, when I looked at their review photos, they seemed the best, so I had already marked them in my mind. I also liked that they explained in detail how they would correct the hump. Between osteotomy or shaving, I had it done with the osteotomy method, and I think this side is good because the effect is clear. For the nasal tip material, they used septal cartilage and donated costal cartilage. During the consultation, they had told me in advance that if my septal cartilage was not large enough, donated costal cartilage might also be used, so I didn’t really mind. But I actually like it because I feel like fixation and maintenance will be stronger than using only septal cartilage lol I don’t know why, it’s just my own brain theory. Now that I’m at 6 months, the awkward and tight feeling when smiling has completely disappeared, and in my case, from week 1 I could breathe okay and the discomfort was gone. Honestly, if I can live with a pretty nose, one week of discomfort is nothing… I can absolutely put up with it. And it was nice that I could use surgery as an excuse to make my younger sibling do all my little errands lol Anyway, among my eyes, nose, and mouth, my nose was what I was most unhappy with, but I finally got surgery and it went well, so I feel relieved. For everyone here who, like me, has a hopeless natural nose with both a bulbous nose and a hump, make sure to read reviews carefully and choose a place where the doctor explains things kindly. I think that’s one way to raise your chances of success.
