I originally had completely monolidded eyes, and even when I opened my eyes with a lot of force, only a faint thin crease would appear. Normally they looked almost like monolids, and my eyelids were also a bit droopy, so I was often told I looked sleepy. That’s why I had been thinking about double eyelid surgery for a long time. For the hospital, I looked into a few places in advance by checking reviews and recommendations from acquaintances, went around for consultations, and decided on one plastic surgery clinic. When I went for the consultation, there were quite a few people getting eye surgery consultations, and both the consultant’s and the director’s consultations were good. It didn’t feel like they were excessively recommending this and that, they explained things in detail, and they clearly told me that surgeries I didn’t need didn’t have to be done, so that actually made me trust them more. At first, I thought an incisional method might be necessary for the line to hold well, but they said my eyes would be fine with natural adhesion, so I got natural adhesion double eyelid surgery together with non-incisional ptosis correction. Acquaintances who had gotten double eyelid surgery said from early on that the line came out clean and nice, but at first I couldn’t really tell because of the swelling. But once it settled a bit, it came out almost the same as the line they created during the consultation, and the symmetry on both sides is pretty good, so I’m satisfied. And until the very end, I debated a lot about whether to get canthoplasty together, but in the end I think it was a good decision not to. Among the places I consulted with, there were hospitals that recommended canthoplasty, but rather than feeling like overtreatment, it seemed more like a difference in each director’s aesthetic sense. Personally, I think that clinic’s aesthetic sense suited me better.
