I never imagined that I would end up needing revision surgery because of my nose surgery. When I first had nose surgery, I was still a minor, so maybe that’s why I didn’t really look up information properly before getting it done. I did choose a place that was supposedly popular among local clinics, but my nose changed much more naturally than I had expected.. Every time people around me asked, “Did you really get it done?” or said, “It doesn’t look that different,” I got stressed. Then as I got older, my nasal bridge and nasal tip gradually started to become crooked, so the shape of my nose looked even stranger. I clearly spent money and had nose surgery, but my nose still didn’t look good, and everyone kept saying I would look much better if I just got my nose done, so it was even more frustrating. That’s why I decided to have revision surgery.
For the revision surgery too, honestly, I’m really not good at researching things, so I first looked into places recommended by people around me. Maybe because it was revision surgery, the cost was definitely higher than what I paid for my first surgery.... Also, for my first surgery I had only looked into things like silicone, septal cartilage, and ear cartilage, but for revision surgery, it felt like there were more material options and different correction methods? So even when I listened to the explanations, I couldn’t really understand them properly;; I felt like if this went on, the revision surgery would fail too, so I started looking for a place that explained things properly. I wanted something about 70% natural and 30% glamorous, so I didn’t want to get both consultation and surgery at a place that leaned too much in only one direction. Then I ended up having a consultation with Director Choi at BNN, and before going, I captured several photos of the nose shape I wanted + review photos and showed them to him.
Before I first showed him the photos, the director pointed out the issues with my nose. We decided to change the nasal bridge to Innofit and use autologous costal cartilage for the nasal tip. He said the scar tissue that had formed could be removed during surgery, and that by correcting the nasolabial angle and nasal tip, the bulbous nose + crooked nose could both be corrected overall. After that, I showed him the photos too, and he compared those photos with my nose while telling me what was possible and what wasn’t. Among all the places I had gone to, his aesthetic sense matched my style the most, so I decided to have surgery there. For people going here for a consultation, I recommend aiming for the morning. There are a lot of people, and the clinic isn’t that big, so you might have to wait a bit. Still, the consultation was top-tier.
Surprisingly, after the surgery, they also showed me photos taken in the operating room, which was nice. If it hadn’t been for that, I wouldn’t have been able to see the shape of my nose until treatment, and with the splint on, it would have been easy to spiral mentally.. I talked with my friends using the operating room photos I received, and they said it seemed to have turned out well, so my expectations got even higher. For about a week, I still wasn’t used to the stuffy-nose feeling, but it was worth waiting. What I truly like most after surgery is that it no longer looks asymmetrical.. And it didn’t turn out too flashy either, so even though this was a revision surgery, people around me think it was my first surgery lol. The effect is that good, but it doesn’t look obvious that I had surgery, so I received a lot of compliments. This is a bit off topic, but I also think it was a good choice to have revision surgery with Innofit (I don’t feel any foreign-body sensation), and the side profile is truly art.
