I finally got the rhinoplasty I had been thinking about for over 10 years. Because of that, I looked into quite a lot of clinics and worked hard to find a director whose aesthetic matched mine and who could make it look that natural. And for me, the most important thing was that even if a director could make a beautiful nose, there shouldn’t be a big variation in results. Would I be okay if my nose ended up being the worst nose that director had made? That was the question.
Then I found this director!!! Honestly, even if a clinic is famous, surgery is done by the doctor. But this place is a one-doctor clinic, so there was only one director, and I didn’t have to worry haha. From the consultation, the director was really meticulous, considering my needs and facial proportions while suggesting an ideal nose shape.
And during the surgery process, I had to have irrigation done once, so it was painful, but seeing the director take responsibility to the end, even if it meant going through the trouble of opening the operating room again just for me, made me trust them even more!
Honestly, when the splint first came off, I really wondered if this was right. And because of the irrigation, I had the splint on for one more week, and I thought it might look a bit better than before, but it was still hopeless... Avatar, proboscis monkey, sea lion, Arab... My nasal tip was extremely upturned, my nostrils looked like the number 11, and it looked like a pig nose and an upturned nose... Ha, I was so upset because it felt like my nose resembled every big and strange-looking nose Every day, I just searched things like rhinoplasty anxiety spiral, rhinoplasty swelling, anxiety swelling in a community and was full of worry... But from week 3, the swelling started to go down very slowly, and I think it gradually became more tolerable.
In week 2, I heard people say things like, “Did you get your nose done?” but now at week 4, unless people look closely, it seems like those around me don’t even notice that I had rhinoplasty! I’m so, so relieved... I was aiming for an extremely natural look, so I’m not 100% satisfied yet, but I think I might be more satisfied once the nasal tip comes down a bit more and the swelling goes down more.
Oh, for reference, my glabella was so low that when you looked at my side profile, you could almost see the pupil on the other side So I had 3 mm silicone and autologous costal cartilage! My droopy nose was pretty severe, so I also had long-nose correction and columella lowering!!!
