First of all, my nose wasn’t extremely severe, but it had a little bit of every possible downside a nose could have (low bridge, slightly upturned nasal tip so my nostrils showed, a slight hump, and a bit of a bulbous nose). Now that I’m writing it, maybe I’m rationalizing it by saying “slightly” for everything haha Anyway, I had a big complex about my nose, so I even tried Hiko, and after thinking about it for years, I finally made up my mind and got my first cosmetic surgery.
My criteria for choosing a hospital were: 1. Consultation with the director 2. Avoid factory-style clinics 3. Aftercare
Honestly, they were all along the same lines, but I was looking for a delicate and meticulous clinic. I think I really searched a lot through many different channels, looking up reviews and the reputation of the director online. Some people say, “Isn’t it fine as long as they’re skilled, even if they’re rude?” But there’s really, really no guarantee of 100% success, so if a situation came up where I needed early correction or after-sales care, and the director was cold while I was already feeling sensitive? I thought I’d feel so hurt and anxious, so I looked a lot for a director with good aesthetic sense and a delicate approach.
When I went around for in-person consultations, I visited large hospitals and single-doctor clinics too, but in the end, I had surgery with Director Lee Joo-cheol at Begin, where the director’s consultation was the most thorough and best! To be honest, I did hesitate because I heard the surgery time was a bit long, but when I thought about it, many clinics try to do even one more surgery per day, so the fact that he focuses on one person and operates meticulously actually felt like an advantage to me.
I had nasal bridge silicone + nasal tip autologous costal cartilage + hump shaving + alar reduction + columella correction. The photos now are from week 1. As soon as the splint came off, my nose looked so pretty that I was video-calling my friends like crazy haha. I’m very satisfied now, but I just hope the swelling goes down a little faster!
