I went to a total of 6 consultations, and I’ll try to write detailed reviews for each clinic tonight or tomorrow! I have to choose between the two clinics I’m most torn about, so everyone, please give me your opinions.
My nose: donor costal cartilage + ear cartilage were used for the nasal tip, and ear cartilage was also placed in the mid-bridge to even out the step-off.
1. ㅍㄹㅁ Complete removal is possible. Even after going around to all the consultations, I didn’t know why my nose had become bulky, and I just assumed it was because cartilage had been put inside or because of scar tissue. But ㅍㄹㅁ has ultrasound, right? So when they looked, they said ear cartilage had been overlaid on both sides of my nose. They said they don’t know why it was done that way. They said it doesn’t seem like the donor costal cartilage support graft/extension was used that largely. And they said the difference between my original nose and my operated nose is very small (not from the front, just looking at height). In reality, when viewed from below, there’s barely any change in my nostrils. But they said they understand what I mean by it looking strange. Anyway, they said if it’s removed, the bulkiness I feel will go away. + Since I said the bulky nose bothers me and that my original nose wasn’t exactly a very slim nose either, they said if I want, they can remove everything and slightly refine the nasal tip using septal cartilage to make it slimmer. (This would be more like revision surgery, and pig-nose movement wouldn’t be possible.) The good point is that scar laser treatment continues to be free. What bothers me a bit is that when I look at community reviews, they seem like an endlessly positive person to most people….
2. ㄷㄹ Complete removal is possible, but they don’t recommend it. The reason is that there’s almost no difference from my original nose, and it just feels like the volume increased, so they said I should think more carefully about removing everything just because I dislike the appearance. (Meaning there’s no immediate reason to open it up compared with cases where removal is definitely needed due to inflammation or other issues.) They said they recommend even less removing it and then doing revision surgery again. (If I want revision surgery, they said it would be better to leave the donor costal cartilage as is and add another piece of cartilage on top, but I don’t like that..) Anyway, wherever I go, they said it’s hard to guarantee 100% whether it will return to my original nose or not. They said they would shape it as much as possible. Anyway, they don’t recommend it, but they said if I’m too stressed, they can remove it.

But I’m also swayed by the fact that ㅍㄹㅁ said they could slightly lift it with septal cartilage, because they were the first to point out exactly the problem I had been thinking of. It doesn’t feel like the nasal tip itself became higher, but more like cartilage was just layered on top of the nasal cartilage.. To the point where I don’t even know why they put in a support graft, because there’s no change in nostril height and only the top got thick. If I want my nose to become slimmer, they said they would remove everything, check the condition of the septal cartilage, and use septal cartilage or ear cartilage to make it slightly slimmer and higher.. But ㄷㄹ said this is really not recommended.. They asked whether I really need to remove everything and do revision surgery.. They said rather than that, it would be better to correct it while leaving the existing donor costal cartilage as is.
Even though I had nose surgery, the change isn’t big now and it just feels like only the top became super thick, so it’s not like I’m worried about a Pinocchio nose or anything. Honestly, I think I still haven’t fully let go of wanting nose surgery a little. But I absolutely don’t want a major surgery using silicone or autologous costal cartilage or anything like that. I think I could tolerate autologous cartilage or fixation sutures. Rather than “even if the shape gets ruined, remove absolutely everything!!!!,” I’m more at the level of “if the shape can improve, I’m willing to accept it.”
But if this fails, I’d really end up in an even more hopeless situation.. And I might seriously regret having removed it.. Also, ㅍㄹㅁ doesn’t really have any clinic review photos at all, and that bothers me..
Anyway, I have 3 choices: 1. ㅍㄹㅁ complete removal 2. ㅍㄹㅁ complete removal + slight nasal tip work 3. ㄷㄹ complete removal
If anyone here has had removal at either clinic, please leave a comment, and please interfere as much as you want. If anyone here had the nasal tip left at ㅍㄹㅁ, please comment on whether you’re satisfied. I have an important schedule in March, so I need to decide as quickly as possible…
