My nose had always been a huge complex for me, but surgery using an implant somehow made me scared of side effects and seemed like recovery would be slow, so at first I was only trying to improve it with procedures. But lol, now even if my worst enemy said they were getting Hiko, I’d want to pack a lunch and go stop them, that’s how ineffective it really is.. I just did it twice, thinking I might as well give it a try, and both times failed, so in the end my hump + arrow nose only looked worse, which made me start looking into nose surgery.
Still, as I said earlier, I didn’t want nose surgery with an implant, so I mainly looked into places that do surgery without implants, using cartilage particles, which is common these days. I started actively checking reviews, websites, and SNS, and then I found out about VN. Since I already had Hiko done on my nose I had the threads removed at the same time too. For the nasal bridge, cartilage particles were used, and for the nasal tip, the length was corrected by septal extension. Thankfully, when I had a CT scan, my septal cartilage was not small, so I didn’t need costal cartilage, but this will vary from person to person, so I recommend going to the clinic for a consultation. They also explained the septal cartilage size in a way that was easy to understand.
As they explained, recovery was really comfortable. The lack of a splint helped a lot too, but especially because there was no cotton packing, I didn’t feel stuffy when breathing. The director said the shape would look prettier if cartilage tying was done together, so I did that too, and I think it was good that I listened. And the best part was that other clinics said I needed osteotomy for the hump, but I had nose surgery without osteotomy. I think thanks to that, I didn’t have much bruising or swelling.
One funny-sad? situation was that I removed the taping myself (they said it was okay to remove it at home by myself), and since it was my first time, I was seriously shaking so much while removing it lol Still, with recovery like this, I think it was as simple as a procedure, and the nasal bridge was corrected cleanly without any step-off, so I’m satisfied. Since my nasal bridge + tip changed, my face also became much more feminine.
