I had my first nose surgery 2 years ago using donated costal cartilage, but as the bridge became crooked, I developed side effects where the cartilage showed through at the nasal tip, making it look pointy and protruding. The starting point of the bridge was high, and the silicone was too thin, so my nose looked unnatural overall, which was really so stressful. Even just looking at the photos before surgery, doesn’t my nose look really strange?? It looked crooked on its own, and felt like only my nose was floating there I went to consultations at 4 places that said they specialized in revision rhinoplasty. I had guessed it somewhat, but my nose really was a difficult case I had the surgery at a clinic, and did revision rhinoplasty with autologous costal cartilage!! They said problems like the pinched areas, depressed areas, and cartilage showing through happened because my skin is really thin and the cartilage framework had been made incorrectly;; For these issues, they shaved and grafted cartilage to make it smooth, and for the cartilage show-through, they restored volume with autologous tissue grafting! For the high silicone starting point, they used a somewhat wider silicone implant that would sit more softly from side to side, and revised it so the bridge through the tip would connect smoothly and softly. I had no idea it would be such a complicated major reconstruction... Still, thanks to finishing the surgery well at the clinic, what a relief..
