Review: Solving Sagging Eyes in a Young 40-Something Who Already Had Double Eyelids with Buried-Suture Double Eyelid Surgery

I already had double eyelids, but as I got older, the skin started sagging downward, and I developed a habit of opening my eyes with my forehead. So by evening, my facial muscles felt really strained, and I felt like wrinkles were forming on my forehead, so I looked into surgery.

I also asked about a forehead lift, but they said the concerns I had could be improved to some extent with double eyelid surgery first, and that it would be okay to do a lift later when I got a bit older. I really liked the doctor because they were very straightforward in consultation, clearly saying what was possible and what was not. The consultant who spoke with me was also kind and answered all my various questions, which was nice. I had consultations for both my nose and eyes, but I was still a bit scared about the nose, so I only did my eyes, and there was absolutely no pressure.

Right after surgery, I had no pain, so I wondered if it was just because the anesthesia hadn’t worn off yet and worried it might hurt at night, but there was truly zero pain. They said I had a bit of bruising, and I think it took about 2 weeks for all the bruising to completely disappear. The swelling was at a level where I could go about daily life right away, and exactly after 10 days, the swelling was completely gone.

I felt good because people around me said the surgery turned out really well even more than I did. If I didn’t bring up the surgery first, people didn’t know. They would say, “Did you get some kind of dermatology treatment? You look prettier somehow, but I can’t tell what it is,” and they didn’t really think I had double eyelid surgery. They said it turned out very natural and well.
