This post was written based on the “consumer rights” guaranteed by our Constitution and the Framework Act on Consumers, and I state that it has no purpose of defaming the above medical institution other than sharing information and helping other patients. On 1/9, I received non-incisional cheekbone reduction surgery at a plastic surgery clinic located in Nonhyeon. I remember being so nervous right up until the surgery that I held the director’s hand tightly while being anesthetized. Starting 4 days after surgery, only the area around my left cheekbone hurt so badly that I had CT and X-ray images taken. The results were very different. Contrary to what I was told, that two osteotomies would be made and the bone would be moved inward, only my left cheekbone had three osteotomies and protruded outward. I had never been told before surgery that this kind of side effect could occur, and I was not told after surgery that this situation had occurred either. After surgery, I sent the CT to the director and asked for an explanation, and I was told that it had gone in well and was positioned properly. I trusted that and waited, but every time I opened my mouth, even my temporomandibular joint hurt, so I asked again. They told me to contact them if there was anything wrong. When I explained the problem again, they switched me to an automated response. The reply that came two days later said that as long as I did my part well, the bone would unite. When I showed my CT images to another hospital, they said the 3 areas had a very high possibility of becoming problematic and that it would likely result in nonunion. Above all, because the pain was severe, I was told that quick revision surgery was necessary. I am a professional, and in two months I will have many situations where I need to meet clients. Therefore, I am scheduled for revision surgery soon. I sincerely hope you choose your hospital carefully. Above all, please do not be swayed by before-and-after surgical results, and I hope you look carefully at the postoperative care procedures and the director’s attitude.
