I had my first consultation in 2015 and finally had the surgery in 2026. Honestly, it would have been better if I’d done it in 2015, but I kept putting it off because of childbirth and raising kids, and I wanted to do it before turning 40. When I first went around for consultations in 2015, I went to three places at the time. I ended up having it done at one of the places where I’d thought, if I do it, I should do it here! This time, I only had consultations at two places, and the first place I went to was just... because I wanted to hear what they had to say. My face must have changed over the past ten years too. They only recommended cheekbone reduction. The price was also relatively cheaper. Since it was only one area... I thought about it, but I really wanted to have the consultation at the other clinic, so I paid the consultation fee, left, and met the director the next day. The earliest date was probably about 3-4 days later. I think they said it was a day they had kept open for surgery because of consultations before the holiday, and they scheduled me for that day. I hated spending each day worrying more and more, so this time I just went in with the mindset that I’d get it done quickly. Above all, the consultation manager (her title was manager) explained everything kindly and well, and the director recommended the same surgery, so I decided all at once. 3-part facial contouring + bone grafting. Actually, other hospitals don’t seem to do bone grafting much, and I’m not sure about this, but it may be something only that clinic is doing. I was also interested in paranasal augmentation surgery, and since it involved placing my own bone into the front cheek area near the cheekbones, I didn’t feel any aversion to it, so I decided to do it together. On the day of surgery, I wasn’t nervous; I only wanted the swelling to go down quickly so I could have the face shape I wanted. After the final design with the director and anesthesia, when I woke up, it really hurt so much. I was dry, and there were the aftereffects of general anesthesia + pain at the surgical sites. I thought, so this is why they call it the pain of shaving bone... and I was almost crying... whining for more painkillers... I was hospitalized for one day, and all the staff were so kind. At 11 at night, it was finally time for me to drink water, and the nurse on duty at night said I had been through so much and patted my back while I drank water, saying it would help me digest well... I felt such warmth from her. Finally, to write my day 7 review: like other people’s reviews, you swell a lot for 3-4 days, and then it starts going down day by day... And fortunately, I didn’t have swelling around my eyes, so if I wear a mask, it isn’t noticeable... The pain is bad for about 2 hours after anesthesia, and after that I kept dozing off, so time passed while I slept, thankfully... Right now I look exactly like Atashin’chi’s Mom, but I’m spending each day looking forward to how my face will change in one month and two months.
