3-week review after revision nose surgery with autologous costal cartilage

The reason I had revision surgery was that my nasal tip was blunt and low, which made my face look cute, and I wanted to change to a more refined impression, so I decided to get revision rhinoplasty. I wanted a semi-straight nasal line with a rounded, sharply elevated nasal tip, and after looking at the before-and-after photos on the plastic surgery clinic’s website, I chose it because I thought they could create the nose shape I wanted. The reason I chose the hospital was that during my first surgery over 10 years ago, I had surgery at a factory-style hospital and felt disappointed with the postoperative patient care. Also, since this was a major surgery, I wanted to be prepared for any possible side effects or various situations after surgery, and I heard that there was a single director in charge and that Director Kim Hyun-joo takes responsibility for patients until the end, so I trusted her and made my decision. In conclusion, I am very satisfied with my decision. Director Kim Hyun-joo said that if the starting height between my eyebrows was raised more than now, it could give a masculine impression, and that placing a thin layer of silicone on the nasal bridge, raising the nasal tip with autologous costal cartilage, and correcting the nasolabial angle would make the nose and mouth line look prettier. Before the nose surgery, I was so scared and worried about harvesting autologous costal cartilage that I couldn’t sleep well. It was also my first time having general anesthesia rather than sedation anesthesia, so I was scared about that too, but after learning that general anesthesia is safer than sedation anesthesia in terms of infection and various other aspects, I controlled my mindset well with the consultant and had the surgery. The surgery was scheduled to take 2 and a half hours, but it ended in 2 hours, and the director told me the surgery went well, so after lying in the recovery room, I came home. On the first day, because of the general anesthesia, my throat felt uncomfortable and stuffy, and I had severe rib pain. After the cotton was removed, I had a hard time because of nasal congestion and rib pain. My ribs got better exactly after 3 days, and the nasal congestion also improved as time passed. From the beginning, I barely had any bruising or swelling, and even after removing the splint, I followed the hospital’s care instructions well, so the swelling is going down nicely. The result came out exactly as I wanted, with a natural semi-straight nasal line and a rounded nasal tip, and I was also very satisfied with the patient care. I was especially grateful that Director Kim Hyun-joo examined me so carefully every time I visited the hospital :)
