When I had rhinoplasty 15 years ago, ear cartilage was used for my nose. During the consultation, the maximum height they could raise it to was lower than I had expected, but I just lived thinking, “I guess this is the highest my nose can go...” As time went by, my nose gradually became lower, and one side of my double eyelid came undone, making my eyes uneven. Since I was going to redo my double eyelids anyway, I decided I should also raise my nose again, so I made up my mind to have revision rhinoplasty and revision eye surgery.
After deciding on revision rhinoplasty, I started looking for clinics. While watching plastic surgery vlogs on YouTube, I narrowed it down to a few YouTubers whose results matched the direction I wanted, and all of them had surgery at RU Plastic Surgery. I also had consultations at about three clinics, but with the system, the kindness of the clinic, and Director Kim Hyun-joo’s professional and trustworthy consultation, I decided to have surgery here, thinking this would be my last plastic surgery.
Director Kim Hyun-joo’s aesthetic sense and the direction I wanted matched really well, so even though I’m currently 1 month post-op and the swelling has not completely gone down yet, I’m 1000% satisfied. The plastic surgeries I had were: *Revision rhinoplasty (3rd surgery) (silicone implant for the nasal bridge + autologous costal cartilage for the nasal tip + bulbous nose correction + columella lowering + fascia reinforcement of the nasal tip) *Revision eye surgery (3rd surgery) (incisional ptosis correction + medial epicanthoplasty on the left side only) *Double-chin liposuction + chin implant for a retruded chin + chin-tip muscle tightening
For the chin area, the director tried to stop me, saying it would be difficult to do everything at once, but I pushed ahead because I thought, “When would I ever be able to do this again?” So I did struggle a bit during recovery. But if you just get through 3 days, you can live somewhat normally.
And maybe because the director specializes in autologous costal cartilage, the area where the costal cartilage was harvested was not very uncomfortable. In other reviews, people say it hurts so much they can’t walk, but for me, except when sneezing, I had no discomfort moving around. I had surgery on the 24th and even went to work on the 26th with my face wrapped up.
I’m really looking forward to seeing it after all the swelling goes down, and every time I visit the clinic, they carefully provide swelling care, scar-tissue injections, and scar checks. Being able to meet the director who performed the surgery in person gives me the greatest sense of psychological reassurance.
